Allotment status by IPO

How to check IPO allotment status

Allotment is finalised one working day after the IPO closes (T+1). From the evening of that day you can check it in three ways:

  1. Registrar website — open the registrar named on the IPO (KFin Technologies, MUFG Intime, Bigshare and others), choose the IPO and enter your PAN, application number or DP/Client ID.
  2. BSE or NSE — the exchanges' application-status pages show the result for most IPOs using your PAN and application number.
  3. Your bank or broker — if the blocked amount is released, you did not get shares; if it is debited and shares appear in your demat account on T+2, you did.

Retail applicants who are not allotted get their blocked money released by T+2. Allotted shares are credited to the demat account a day before listing.

Frequently asked questions

When is IPO allotment status available?

One working day after the IPO closes (T+1), usually from the evening. Weekends and exchange holidays are not counted.

Where do I check IPO allotment status?

On the website of the IPO’s registrar (KFin Technologies, MUFG Intime, Bigshare and others) or on the BSE/NSE application-status pages, using your PAN or application number.

What happens if I do not get an allotment?

The amount blocked through UPI/ASBA is released to your bank account, normally by T+2.

When are allotted shares credited to my demat account?

On T+2, a day before the shares list on the exchange (T+3).

Why did I not get shares even though I applied?

When a category is oversubscribed, retail and HNI winners are picked by lottery, so many applicants get nothing. Applying from different family members’ PANs improves the household’s chances.
